Ampicillin Sodium SaltAmpicillin Sodium Salt is a beta lactam antibiotic with an amino side chain attached to 6 amino penicillanic acid. This Penicillin derivative inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by inactivating transpeptidases on the inner surface of the cell membrane. It is often used as a selective agent for plasmid transformation. Ampicillin Sodium Salt is bactericidal to E. coli, and is more active against Gram negative bacteria.
